Biography[]

Aurora is the daughter of King Stefan and Queen Leah. When she was born, there was great pageantry within the kingdom. However, King Stefan failed to invite the evil fae Maleficent to his daughter's christening. Supremely insulted, Ole' Mally crashed the party and executed the ultimate buzzkill by placing a curse upon the princess. By the time of her sixteenth birthday, she would prick her finger on a spinning wheel, at which point, she would fall into a deep death-like slumber and could only be awakened by True Love's kiss.

Desperate to prevent such a tragedy from occurring, King Stefan ordered that all spinning wheels in the kingdom to be burned. Furthermore, he left his infant child in the care of three good fairies named Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. The fairies took the baby out into the woods where they raised her in a small cottage on their own. Aurora grew up a happy, yet lonely child. Her only companions aside from her fairy godmothers were the various creatures of the woodlands.

By the time Aurora turned sixteen, Maleficent tricked her into pricking her finger on a spinning wheel and she fell into a deep sleep. The good fairies, being unable to stop Maleficent, placed Aurora on a bed in the highest tower and placed a powerful charm on all of the people in the kingdom, causing them to fall into a deep sleep until the spell could be broken. A young man named Prince Phillip, who had fallen in love with Aurora, bravely fought up against Maleficent and succeeded in destroying her with the Sword of Truth. Afterward, he went to the castle and kissed Aurora. The kiss of True Love was strong enough to break the spell and Princess Aurora awakened. The curse was lifted.
