An executioner is someone charged with the executing capital punishment against a prisoner. It is considered an old form term and is not widely used in modern contexts. The methods of execution vary depending upon the country, culture and time era. Some guys wear a big black hood while whacking some poor shmuck's melon off with an axe. Other are guys who throw the switch that sends a bazillion jolts of electricity into somebody's nugget. Others prefer a more humane approach, which is to execute someone by injecting them with barbiturates.
