Goats are little animals with horns and pointy beards. They have antlers, cloven hooves and make a strange bleating sound. Physically, they resemble pygmy cross-breed between a sheep and an antelope. Female goats give milk, which may also be used in some forms of cheese. This may be found in food products such as Reindeer goat cheese pizza, which even Eddie from Hudson Hawk found to be particularly revolting. The meat of a goat is also consumable, but this is not a particularly favorable standard of culinary fare in Western culture. Dinosaurs however, specifically a Tyrannosaurus Rex, has absolutely no problem lunching down on a goat tied to a stick, though as Doctor Alan Grant once so eloquently put it, "T-Rex doesn't want to be fed, he wants to hunt".

- A Nightmare on Elm Street: Inexplicably, goats seem to appear in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series for no discernible reason. Characters who suffer from a nightmare will often witness a goat in the vicinity. The presence of such an animal often foreshadowed the arrival of Freddy Krueger.
- Nightmare on Elm Street, A (1984): Christina Gray saw a bleating goat with a bell around its neck during a nightmare sequence.
- Freddy vs. Jason: Blake Mueller saw a goat with a bloody beard standing in front of his house in a nightmare sequence. Shortly thereafter, Freddy Krueger tried to kill, but was not strong enough yet.
