Lindsey Farris is a fictional secret agent and a supporting character in the Mission: Impossible film series. Played by actress Keri Russell, she appeared in the 2006 action movie Mission: Impossible III.
Biography[]
Lindsey Farris was a highly trained agent of the Impossible Missions Force (IMF), a top-secret American espionage agency. Her mentor was the semi-retired field agent Ethan Hunt. While investigating an international arms dealer named Owen Davian, Lindsey was captured and Davian implanted an explosive chip in her head.
When the IMF learned about Farris' abduction, IMF agent John Musgrave put a team together to retrieve her. As she was Ethan's protégé, Hunt found himself pulled back into the spy world. They went to Berlin, Germany and recovered Lindsey, but Ethan was unable to deactivate the explosive pellet inside of her head. While making an emergency evacuation from Davian's facility, the implant went off, killing her. She died in Ethan's arms.
Ethan later learned that Lindsey had mailed him a postcard before her capture and discovered a magnetic microdot under the stamp, which provided information about Davian's activities. [3]

- The character of Lindsey Farris was created by director J.J. Abrams and writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci based on concepts originally developed by Bruce Geller.
- Lindsey Farris' actual cause of death is considered classified. The "official" report reads that she died in a head-on collision on Interstate-95.
- Although she only had a brief role in the film, actress Keri Russell received seventh billing in Mission: Impossible III. She is the second credited female cast member after Michelle Monaghan, who played Ethan's wife, Julia Meade.
