Pinocchio is an American animated feature film of the children's fantasy genre. It is one of the original Walt Disney animated classics and was brought together by supervising director Clyde Geronimi and writer Erdman Penner. The story is based on Charles Perrault's La Belle au bois dormant, aka "The Beauty sleeping in the Wood". Produced by Walt Disney Productions, the film premiered in the United States on February 7th, 1940.
