Species II is an American feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It is the sequel to the 1995 movie Species and was directed by Peter Medak and written by Chris Brancato. It was produced by MGM and FGM Entertainment and released theatrically on April 10th, 1998. The plot of the film involves a manned space mission to Mars, in which an astronaut named Patrick Ross is infected with alien DNA and brings it back to Earth, where it eventually takes host in a woman's body, giving birth to an alien creature of the same race as Sil. To combat this, Doctor Laura Baker has taken charge of Sil's offpsring from the previous film and has taken to calling it Eve, hoping to nurture it so that it does not adopt the predatory predilictions of its mother.
