United Artists, also known as simply UA, is an American film production studio. They have also been referred to as United Artists Pictures, Inc., United Artists Films, Inc., United Artists Entertainment, LLC and United Artists Productions Finance, LLC. In 1980, United Artists was absorbed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and has since been identified by the combined name of MGM/United Artists or MGM/UA.
